What to expect as a volunteer
As a new volunteer, you'll embark on a journey of training and hands-on experience. Your activities will include going through comprehensive training programs to prepare you for various situations. You'll then be involved in helping community members during critical moments, from citizen/lift assists and responding to car accidents to fighting fires. Every day offers a new chance to learn and make a difference.

If you're interested in volunteering, the first step is to fill out an application. Once your application is submitted, you will be scheduled for an interview with the department. Following a successful interview, the department will vote on your admission as a probationary firefighter. This probationary program lasts a minimum of six months, after which you will be voted on to become a full member. We look forward to welcoming you to the Prophetstown Fire Protection District!
